8 Secrets to Living a Happier Life

Did you know that where you live plays heavily on you happiness of life? For example in Denmark, citizens feel cared for by their government because they understand that their health and education will be taken care of by the government. Whereas in Mexico it’s all about relationships with friends and family.

Dan Buettner,  author of  Thrive: Finding Happiness the Blue Zones Way researched four of the planet’s happiest places to live and discovered their secrets and here’s a list of eight ways he discovered that you can use to make your own life happier today.

  1. Find quiet surroundings - nice quiet communities to live in
  2. Avoid long commutes - people who walk to work or have short commutes are 40% happier than those who don’t
  3. Find a hobby - join a group of some sort
  4. Invest in experiences - go on vacation, have a life experience you’ve always wanted
  5. Reduce TV screens - I think this is huge in North America.  We watch too much tv and don’t enjoy life.
  6. Own a pet - In addition to the unconditional love we receive from them, they also reduce our blood presusure and stress hormones in our blood.
  7. Paint your mood - color plays a vital role.  Paint your rooms in your home in colors that will soothe your soul and help the purpose of the room.
  8. Find a purpose partner  - This is thought was really interesting.  This person will be the one who can wake you up to the potential of your life. He recommends reading this book, The Power of purpose by Richard Leider to learn more.
I think these 8 are do able, right.  They seem like a very simple way to change your life for the better.  That’s why I’m off to do number 3 as I’m going for my first guitar lesson.

Happy New Year 2011!Wishing you all a Happy 2011!

All New Years come with New Year’s resolutions.  That’s the time of year when most of us make the promise to ourselves that we will do more of ‘x’ or less of ‘y’. Work less, play more? Eat better? Drink more water? Or how about the always ever popular, go to the gym more.

So what’s your ‘x’ or ‘y’? As great as the ones above sound, how about the new year resolution of Changing Your Frequency (CYF).

So what is CYF? Well CYF means having a different focus on or outlook on your life, thus being open to endless wonderful possibilities.  It’s more about changing how you feel and which way you look at things.  So for example let’s say you want to travel but you don’t think you have enough money, don’t focus on your lack of money, instead focus on the places you want to visit and what you would do when you visit.  Or how about the always popular, “I hate my job!” Well instead of focusing on all the things you hate about your job, focus on what you love about it and more things you love will appear.  Remember,

You can change your life, just by changing your focus. Your life does not have to be the one way linear experience many of us think it is. It can be and is filled with multiple opportunites, you just have to be open to them. And by you being more in the tune of a positive frequency, you will be more in tune with these possibilites.

So how do you become more in tune with positivity? Well first, sign up for our blog to keep updated on all our fantasitc findings which we share; second read up on some of our content like:

In addition to these, another great way to change your frequency with the power of positive thinking is  to create a gratitude journal.  This is a daily journal where everyday you write down items that you are grateful for such as a healthy body, eyes to see, ears to hear, a job, a home, a wonderful family etc.

So, lets add on a new resolution of changing your frequency with the power of positive thinking!
